Best results happen when your body is well nourished and hydrated to help produce collagen and heal the skin. Leading up to and after your appointment, focus on hydration along with eating foods rich in omega 3’s like wild caught fish, nuts (walnuts, pecans), seeds (flax, chia), eggs, yogurt, etc. Omega 3’s are thought to help support collagen production and overall skin health. Homemade/frozen bone broth, berries and citrus fruits are also very skin supportive. If needed, consult with a registered dietitian or physician before taking supplements or making diet changes.

Sugaring Hair Removal Preparation
-
Your hair should be ¼” long (the length of a grain of rice) or about 2-3 weeks of growth. This allows the paste to successfully attach to your hair without pulling or tugging at excessive length. Hair may be longer but please know this can increase discomfort and we cannot trim excess length at your appointment so please plan accordingly!
-
For best results, exfoliate 2-3 times weekly leading up to appointment. Exfoliate 48 hours prior to appointment (not the day of or day before.) Use a clean exfoliating mitt, dry brush or a scrub - of the above PLUS Fur® pre-and post-sugaring products are available in the Pêche shop in-studio and online for the best preparation experience!
-
If possible, please come with clean skin. Shower the morning of your appointment and avoid applying lotions, powders or oils to the skin. A cleansing cloth will be provided appointment as needed.
-
Avoid excess sun exposure, tanning beds or sunburns prior to appointment. Please notify us ASAP if you have an existing sunburn, severe breakout, active herpes, rash, or irritation prior to service. Depending on severity of your condition, sugaring may be contraindicated.

Does it hurt? Your first appointment will admittedly be uncomfy but if you stick with it, each appointment gets so much easier! I take extra steps for added comfort to make a breeze! If permitted by your physician, you may take Tylenol prior to the appointment. If you tend to have redness after hair removal, an over the counter oral antihistamine may also be helpful. Please know that taking NSAIDs (I.e. IbProfen can increase bruising risk)
-
Please bring a clean pair of underwear to appointment. Loose clothing away from skin after appointment is most comfortable (think linen or sweat pants, not jeans or leggings). Do not come to an appointment immediately before/after a workout as excess sweat and bacteria increase risk for infection.
-
Please update your sugarista and your intake forms of any allergies along with changes to medical history or medications prior to every appointment.
-
Aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment. Plan to avoid sweaty workouts, sexual activity, swimming or hot baths/tubs for 24 hours. These activities increase risk of infection too close to appointment
Spray Tanning Preparation

Please remove any unwanted hair 24 hour prior to spray tan. Use a an exfoliating glove (available at Pêche), loofah or wash cloth to exfoliate your ENTIRE body well to help with evenness and longevity of color. Don’t forget your back and especially focus on dry areas like knees, elbows and ankles.
-
At least 3 hours prior to appointment, please rinse or wipe (with only water) to remove any lotion, deodorant, etc. Any products left on the skin may prevent spray tan from applying properly or will impact the color. Please avoid all Dove products prior to and after spray tan as they can strip the color.
-
Please stop all active ingredients 5 days prior to appointment as they can increase skin sensitivity, and cause uneven tan. This includes RetinA, glycolic, mandelic, salicylic, lactic acids, etc. We can skip spraying your face as needed.
-
Please plan waxing and nail appointments at least 24 hours prior to tanning to avoid skin sensitivity. Waxing or manicures post-tan can remove the color in specific areas. If nail appointments are scheduled after your tan, ask the nail technician not to soak/scrub your hands or feet.
