Please read through this list of possible contraindications. Always consult with a physician prior to LED Red Light Therapy.
Pregnancy: Red light therapy may not be recommended due to the lack of extensive safety research during pregnancy.
Photosensitivity Disorders: Conditions like lupus, porphyria, or any disorder that increases sensitivity to light could worsen with red light exposure.
Active Cancer: Red light therapy should be avoided in areas where cancer is present or suspected due to concerns about stimulating cell growth.
Recent Skin Treatments or Procedures: People who’ve recently had chemical peels, laser treatments, or other skin procedures may need to avoid red light therapy to prevent irritation or adverse effects.
Eye Conditions: Red light therapy can be harmful to the eyes, so people with eye conditions like retinal diseases should avoid direct exposure to the eyes.
Use of Photosensitizing Medications: Medications like certain antibiotics, anti-fungal treatments, or other photosensitizing drugs can increase sensitivity to light, making red light therapy unsafe.
Epilepsy or Seizure Disorders: People with epilepsy should be cautious about flashing lights or prolonged light exposure as it can trigger seizures.
History of Skin Cancer: Those with a history of skin cancer should cover areas that have been affected, as it could potentially stimulate abnormal cell growth.
Chronic Conditions: Individuals with certain chronic health conditions (e.g., heart disease, diabetes) may need to consult a doctor before using red light therapy.

Red light is best able to penetrate clean skin so please come with no makeup/SPF or you can request a towel to remove when you arrive.

Please stop all active ingredients at least 3 days prior to your appointment - cover any areas during session if you forgetI This includes any retinol/Retin-A based products, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (glycolic, mandelic, lactic etc.) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (salicylic Acid or Willow Bark) as they can cause increased skin sensitivity to light. Discontinue use for at least 3 days after.
